Featured Female Artists

Last September, we chose two groups from Chicago to be our featured artists (Ripley Caine and The Locals); these two groups also happened to be female-fronted bands! We liked the idea of featuring female artists so much, that we decided to make it a tradition! So, without further ado, we present the 2nd Annual “Girls Rock” feature here at MWB!

This September, we are featuring 3 female artists that are accomplishing big things in their respective markets. We are also stepping outside the geographical boundaries of the Midwest to introduce you to artists spanning the country! All of them have distinct voices, all are great singer/songwriters, and all are favorite artists here at MidwestBands.com!

We are proud to feature the accomplishments of these three great artists! Girls Rock!

East Coast - Xoch
(Poughkeepsie, NY)

Xoch (pronounced “Zoach”) is a female artist on the rise in the world of popular music today! She is a person for whom individuality in all parts of life is a necessity. Once you see her, and hear the great material on her debut album The One, there will be no doubt in your mind that she is definitely achieving individuality! Her music is founded on a powerful rock sound, made possible by her collaboration with guitarist and songwriting partner Vince Ripper. The music is the stage, but Xoch’s vocal abilities are the star! Her voice may be compared with many of the Pop Divas of today, but when it all comes down to it, there really is only one artist just like her! Many of the traits of great female artists, past and present, reside in this wonderfully talented, soon-to-be-famous singer! Songs like the title track “The One”, and “You” will convince you that you are hearing greatness before it is unleashed on the world at large! Several great things are happening for Xoch this month! Her song “The One” was chosen to be included in a new Lifetime television movie, entitled “Sex and the Single Mom”! The movie will air on Monday, September 8th at 9:00 PM! Be sure to check that out! She is also doing a live performance in studio for a syndicated radio program called The Studio, which will air on several stations nationwide this month! Finally, she’ll also be performing at the legendary NYC club CBGB’s September 4th! Can things possibly get any better for her? We certainly hope so! She already has a European distribution deal with Now and Then Records, and is planning on beginning work on her next CD in October 2003!
